Contract awarded to the Consortium formed by the companies Manuel Francisco de Almeida, SA and Nativa – Arquitectura, Engenharia e Construção Lda., For the value of 291 235.75 Euros (two hundred and ninety-one thousand two hundred and thirty-five euros and seventy-five cents ), plus VAT at the statutory rate, and will have an execution time of 60 days.

The intervention essentially consisted of placing synthetic turf at the Municipal Stadium, thus improving considerably the conditions for sports practice in that area. Within the scope of the work, water drainage and irrigation systems were also installed and the field fence was upgraded.

At the Municipal Stadium of Murtosa, located in the sports area of ​​Saldida, in the parish of Monte, currently play the different soccer classes of Sport Marítimo Murtoense, namely the Women’s Football team, which militates in the 1st National Division and the training levels of Male Football (Schools, Children and Youth and Juniors), which involve, in the sports practice, about a hundred children and young people of the Municipality.

The Municipal Stadium of Murtosa was inaugurated on August 14, 1983, with the game between the formations of Sport Marítimo Murtoense and Sport Marítimo Murtoense from Newark, USA, which registered, in the end, a two-ball tie. On 15 November 1984, the F.C. do Porto team brightened up the inauguration of the stadium’s night lighting. 25 years after its inauguration, the Municipal Stadium had a new era of modernity and functionality, with the transformation of the pelado into synthetic turf.
