We have started work on the rehabilitation of the public space at Rua Dr. Alberto Tavares de Castro, in Oliveira do Bairro, in the amount of approximately 1.1 million euros.
This contract is one of the three interventions that are part of the Urban Regeneration Plan of Oliveira do Bairro, which joins the one that is currently being carried out at Rua dos Bombeiros and Rua António Oliveira e Rocha, next to the city’s CP Station, and the intervention already completed at Rua Cândido dos Reis.
The intervention covers Rua Dr. Alberto Tavares de Castro, Rua Manuel Simões Barata and a part of Largo do Adro, in an area of approximately 8,570 m2 and has the general objective of improving and beautifying public space and benefiting pedestrian circulation, formalizing and ordering the parking spaces.
Other actions to be carried out will include the definition of traffic calming measures and the pedestrian and automobile circulation channel, the elimination of urban barriers, the reformulation of pedestrian crossings and the reformulation of the rainwater drainage network, water supply network, network telecommunications, electricity supply and public lighting.
The works of the first phase of the contract for the rehabilitation of the public space on Rua Dr. Alberto Tavares de Castro are centered on the section between the connection to Alameda da Cidade and the intersection with Rua Professor António Joaquim Carvalho.
