STARTING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE 3ND PHASE OF THE RIO UÍMA WALKWAYS

The third phase of the Environmental Requalification of the Uíma River Banks has started, referring to the section between Lobão and Caldas de S. Jorge, a work that will be completed within one year and involves a municipal investment that amounts to 675,000 euros.

This accessible route along the banks of the Uíma River, with about 3.2 km, is one of the most scenic places in the county, which will now be returned to the population who once joined there in their spare time to carry out different activities.

However, the Environmental Rehabilitation of the Uíma River Banks is a multi-phase project that aims to rehabilitate the entire course of the Uíma River.

In the future, when all rehabilitation phases are completed, the walkway will be about eight kilometers long. From one end to the other, you will connect Ponte da Tabuaça, in Sanguedo, to Varzea, in Pigeiros, and in between you will be able to walk around the parishes of Fiães, Lobão and Caldas de S. Jorge.
